Does weak state privacy legislation enhance data sustainability and therefore operational resilience?  I don’t think so.  I have read the passed legislation in Iowa, and I am left disappointed.  The Iowa law mimics the Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia laws without some of the provisions which give them teeth, like the data protection assessment requirements. The U.S. needs comprehensive laws that govern the equilibrium between beneficial progress that creates value for people and protection from out-of-bounds processing of data pertaining to people that takes away free will. Weak laws with weak enforcement does little to further either sustainable innovation or consumer protection.  That is what is on my mind.  What is on yours?  Tell us on Thursday at the time and link below.
