The IAF Thursday Chat returns February 3^rd and there is much to discuss.  The UK government announced the “Brexit Freedoms Bill” January 31, stating:

UK Government consulted in the autumn on proposals that seek to create an ambitious, pro-growth and innovation-friendly UK data protection regime that underpins the trustworthy use of data. The Government will be publishing its response in Spring this year ahead of introducing legislation on reforms to the UK’s data protection regime.

On the U.S. side of the ocean, EPIC and Consumer Reports issued their suggestion that the FTC mandate data minimization.  And the OECD is creating a working group to add commentary on the accountability principle.  Finally, the Winter Olympics start Thursday with fundamental rights sidelined.
