This August is not the quiet month it usually is. FTC Commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter published a taxonomy for algorithmic harms entitled “Algorithms and Economic Justice:  A Taxonomy of Harms and a Path Forward for the Federal Trade Commission” that is very thoughtful.  It links to the themes in the IAF’s model legislation and the IAF’s “The Risk of What” workshop in September. ICO requested comments on its draft guidance on international transfer risk assessments. Ontario, Canada extended the time to respond to its consultation paper on a provincial private sector privacy law just as the Federal government announced a September general election.  And today NOYB filed 422 complaints with 12 different data protection agencies, (half are with the Austrian DPA). The Austrian DPA will be busy; how about you?  Please let us know this Thursday at the time and link below.
