IAF Side Event April 11 on New Governance Models that Preserve Positive Innovative Data Uses
April 11, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Please join us for a CLE seminarThe new risk calculus for data-forward companies in an age of escalating cyber and adverse consequence third-party risk: Their risk is your risk
Please join DLA Piper, The Information Accountability Foundation, and The Providence Group to explore data use risk governance that anticipates tomorrow’s regulatory environment. (Register here)
The shape of data processing risk to others, including consumers, partners, and the cyber infrastructure, changes in odd unanticipated ways, and that risk to others becomes your, almost instantaneous first party risk. Unintended disparate treatment from an algorithm, becomes proof that you are unfair, while a security vulnerability for others is evidence of being careless. New SEC cyber rules and laws like China’s AI law are evidence that risk to others is now your risk. Risk management works well where risk has well defined parameters, but in this new environment risk changes shape at a pace that defies set parameters. New governance bridges are needed, and that is just what will be discussed. Join us to discuss the dilemma and the bridge building techniques necessary in a world where risks take new shapes in a nano second.
