The Information Accountability’s Latin America Discussion Group met on 10 September 2014 to discuss an education and research agenda for the fall. The group discussed Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Mexico. The group expanded its discussion to Canada which is beginning to explore revisions to the private sector privacy law. Marty Abrams as well as a number of the discussion group participants have recently been in Canada to provide input into the Canadian process. The group decided to expand its scope of work to include all of the Americas less the United States. Specific customized research projects for each jurisdiction of interest are being planned.
Each organization funding the Foundation is eligible to participate in the work. If the group’s expanded geographic area is interesting to your organization, please contact us.
